Austin’s Blanton Museum of Art always delivers extravagance and culture. The Blanton hosted a gala filled with music, food, dancing, and art to celebrate the opening of it’s latest exhibit: Epic Tales from Ancient India: Painting from the San Diego Museum of Art. In it, you can view painted stories of heroic battles and abduction. The exhibit opened July 9th and runs until October 1st. We love Blanton Museum event photography because we catch colors, culture, and people joining together to celebrate art.
The gala hosted Director’s Circle members to celebrate the exhibit’s opening. Then, it opened to the general public for a huge celebration.
We loved the colors in every detail at the gala, right down to the ingredients chosen in the food by Tarka Austin and Crave Catering.
Even the glassware boasted gorgeous jewel tones.
Blanton Museum Event Photography
The event brought Ancient India to life with classical dance and music for guests to enjoy. The vibrant colors contrasted beautifully to the Blanton’s iconic blue walls.
Artist-in-Residence Aruna Kharod performed as part of the exhibit. As a student of bharatanatyam classical dance for 10 years, Aruna performed stories and dances related to the exhibition.
Because we’re photographers, we’re always looking for interesting lines and patterns. The Blanton has amazing architecture every where you look. The bold lines and crisp contrast of the building makes for no shortage of great shots. This shot of the ceiling is one of our favorites.
We weren’t the only ones snapping pictures; a board member stops to capture the magic.
The Blanton Museum continues to bring culture, history, and art to Austin. Not only do they bring art to our city, they bring art to life. With people and events to support and celebrate, the Blanton is a treasure that keeps our city thriving. We are grateful to capture the magic that happens in these walls.
